Saturday, July 13th

OTR (On The Rocks) @ Brick Elks [Outside] (1pm To 5pm)

I’ll be teaming up with OTR for a fun day of tunes, brew, and chow. My first stop is Brick Elks. Don’t hold me to it, but I believe this is an “Open To The Public” event.

Sunday, July 14th

Jimmy Brogan Acoustic Concert @ Heritage Park (7pm To 10pm)

Jimmy Brogan, Tony Pontari, Little Miss Taylor Pontari, and I will be cranking out a selection of great tunes in a free concert to the public. Bring out a lawn chair, pack a cooler, and enjoy a relaxing evening of music under the shade of the park’s tall trees. It is shady and the music will be in the evening, but adding a little sunblock and mosquito repellent to your arsenal couldn’t hurt. We start at 7pm. I’ve played this outdoor venue before, and it’s so cool. You’ll be glad you came too.

Josh Werner & Friends @ Buckalew’s (7pm To 10pm)

I’ll be joining Josh Werner and Jeff Propert at the this well-known Jersey Shore staple. We’ll be belting out some of our favorite country, blue grass, and rock tunes. Join us for some great food, apps, cocktails, and brews while we dust your atmosphere with live music. This is one of my favorite Summer gigs.

The Jimmy Brogan Band @ Sundays On The Beach (LBI) (12pm To 2pm)

The Jimmy Brogan Band will rockin’ LBI’s “Sunday Concerts At 68th Street Beach“. It features a plethora of talent starting off with Jimmy Brogan leading the band on vocals and guitar. Greg Jaeckel will be setting the beat on the skins and providing some background vocals. Katie Jaeckel will join us for a few songs on flute. I, Jersey John, will be filling the air with some blues harp and harmonies. It’s from noon-2:00pm with an array of Americana, classic rock, rhythm and blues, and country tunes in #LBI #BrantBeach. So break out those beach chairs, plop down a cooler, and join us on our free concert in the sun.

Gig crashing once again, this time in LBI with Jimmy Brogan And Tony Pontari. We got to do some fine-tuning in preparation for our show in Heritage Park on July 14th. On break we got the chance to catch Todd and Boose from The Pickles at their gig just across the street.

John & Pam Hawes “July 4th Bash” (On 7/4-Thu)

The Fourth of July was a day of celebration and private parties. Somehow I always find myself making a trek back to the car to grab my box of harps and an assortment of gear just to sit-in on one tune. Usually that tune features a signature harmonica solo, and in this case it was “Long Train Running“. You can see the video on Facebook from this particular party if you have an account. Hope you all had a Happy Fourth!

What do you do when Jimmy Buffett’s lead guitar player is touring in the area? You’ve got to go see him perform of course. The Coastal Jersey Parrothead Club, once again, arranged to have Peter and his son, Brendan, do what they do best. Held at the Elks Lodge #1432 in Lakewood, the duo put on a spectacular show that weaved their originals among significant Buffett tunes and transitioned to their renditions Van Morrison, Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Grateful Dead covers.
