Rockin’ At Maggie’s

The mid-September rockin’ has already begun. On Wednesday, the 16^th, the Brue Crew had its regularly scheduled bi-weekly show with the addition of Adam Lewis (Aloha Monkey) on percussion. Adam, perched on his cajón, adds the unique styles and rhythm he’s known for plus a few effects and vocal harmonies. Definitely someone you need to catch when he’s out and about. After our first set, we were later joined by Adam’s band-mate, Bob Coon, who plays lead guitar for “Aloha Monkey“. You can check out some photographs of the evening’s event below from Facebook.

The subsequent night, while running some errands, I stopped in again at Maggie’s and had the pleasure of jammin’ with Frankie P. and Mikey V. of the “Unprofessionals“. It was an awesome acoustic jam touching on many requests from our front-row listeners, Tina, Joan, and Christine. Although Mother Nature let loose some downpours around the outskirts of our location, for us the night stayed dry and warm making it a relaxing night of cocktails and tunes right up to the end. Christine shared a few of her home-grown peppers with Mikey and I. Thank you Christine.

What’s Next?

I’ll be starting these following days by hitting Windward Tavern with the Brue Crew on Friday (9/18). The Brue Crew shows that I’ll be performing for the weekend include Martell’s Tiki Bar, Cedarcroft Clubhouse, and The Waterfront. We’ll have percussionist and drummer extraordinaire Jamil with us on Sunday (9/20) at the Waterfront in Forked River. His timing, smile, and style brings the music up to another leval. We love having Jamil join us. Come on out and catch the tunes. The Waterfront does it right, making it easy to abide social distancing and still have a spectacular view of the band and the saltwater activity.

Some friends will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah with their loved ones, so I’ll catch you out and about soon enough. For those celebrating, Happy New Year!
